Community Gardens With the addition of the King Mountain Community Garden in spring 2024, the Parks & Recreation Department offers gardening opportunities for the Bellingham community with four unique community gardens: Fairhaven, Sven Hoyt, Lakeway, and King Mountain. The four gardens have a combined total of 257 plots. The plots at Fairhaven, Sven Hoyt and Lakeway are 10x20 and have an annual fee of $50 per plot. King Mountain offers smaller plots, either a 10x10 ground plot, or 3X7 raised bed, which cost $30 and $20 respectively. While priority registration is given to current gardeners, we do anticipate having plot openings at each of four gardens this winter for the 2025 growing season. Registration opens for new gardeners on Monday, January 6 at 8:30 a.m. Please visit the Community Gardens website to download the New Gardener application. Registration is based on a first come, first paid basis.
