Family/Community cob.org/parks • (360) 778-7000 9 Scottish Country Dancing Classes Scottish Country Dancing is the social dancing of Scotland without any of the competitive aspects. It has a long, interesting history and is one of the root influences for U.S. folk dancing. You will progress from learning the basic steps and figures, then put them together into more complex dances. Participants will enjoy moving to the music of jigs and reels and eventually the elegant strathspey. Soft soled shoes without heels or slippers are recommended. Complete with free popcorn, music, good vibes, hot cocoa, and possible polar bear sightings – come welcome in the New Year with us at the 2025 Polar Dip & Resolution Walk/Run. Participants will start with a nice walk/jog around Lake Padden (2.7 miles) beginning at 11:00 am. Once the clock hits 12:00 pm, everyone will take the plunge! Bring a towel, shoes that can get wet (a must have!) and a warm change of clothes! DAY/DATE: Wednesday / January 1, 2025 TIME: Walk/Run: 11:00 am / Dip: 12:00 pm sharp! AGES: All (16 and younger accompanied by an adult) LOCATION: Lake Padden West Entrance, meet in front of the bath house. COST: Free COORDINATOR: Patrick Ulinski Relaxing Restoration Relieve stress with a relaxing restoration of guided meditation, healing sounds, and movement with licensed therapist Layla Jasper. Bring a blanket and yoga mat to the new Cordata pavilion. Pre-registration is required for all sessions.
