Youth/ Teen FALL PLAYBOOK 2024 | BELLINGHAM PARKS & RECREATION 8 DIY Gift Making What's better than receiving a homemade gift? Making one of course! At the end of the class, everyone will leave with 3 handmade gifts. Youth Cooking Competitions Ever wanted to try a cooking competition? Think you have the best flavors to beat your competitors? These 2-hour competitions will help you hone your kitchen skills. Register for one or all three. DAY/DATE: Thursday, Dec. 19 LOCATION: Cordata Park Pavilion The Salsa Challenge Make the best salsa in the room… including only the ingredients that you earn! Compete in trivia challenges and games to earn ingredients. We'll learn about flavor profiles, knife safety skills, chopping techniques, and leave with a cup of our own salsa. We'll learn piping icing techniques, how to use a double boiler, and leave with two decorated cookies. Prizes presented for: Tastiest, Most Creative, & Scariest! DAY/DATE: Thursday, Oct. 24 LOCATION: Cordata Park Pavilion how to use a double boiler, and leave with Fruit Salad Struggle We're on a quest to make the tastiest fruit salad! We'll decipher runes, dodge gremlins, and safely pass through the Forest of Fruit to forage ingredients. We will learn about flavor profiles, knife safety skills, chopping techniques, and leave with your own fruit salad recipe for Thanksgiving!
