cob.org/parks • (360) 778-7000 Facility Rental Info 25 Peggy Graham Contract Accounting Technician Peggy started working for the City of Bellingham in 2017 and spent 8 years in the Finance Department. In July she joined the Parks & Recreation team as the Contract Accounting Tech and will assist with contract tracking, AP, AR and numerous other tasks. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, DIY projects, playing with her cats, and spending time with her husband. Jeremy Galvin Park Technician – Grounds Jeremy was born and raised in Whatcom County, with most of his time spent on Lummi Island. He went to school at Oregon State University in Corvallis where he studied horticulture with a turf- grass emphasis and the goal of becoming a golf course superintendent. After college he lived in San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Seattle, and Portland where he worked at different golf courses before returning back to Bellingham. In his free time, he loves to golf, snowboard, mountain bike, be on the water, and take his dog Sucia along on most activities. John Held Park Technician – Facilities John has lived in Whatcom County his whole life. After graduating from Whatcom Community College with an associate's degree in arts and sciences, he spent several seasons as a Maintenance Aide with the Parks Facilities department, eventually working his way up to a Park Technician. After leaving Parks for a couple of years, he has returned as a Park Technician again! He loves to play music with his friends and spoil his little gray cat, Sharky. He looks forward to helping maintain our wonderful Parks! Meghan Pope Park Technician – Facilities Meghan joined the Facilities Team as a seasonal employee in 2022 and was recently promoted to a Park Technician position. Meghan has previously worked in construction and enjoys facilitating positive change in the parks. She is originally from Michigan and has a biology degree from Northern Michigan University. Meghan is an avid swimmer and also enjoys hiking and sewing in her free time. Jan Schumacher Office Assistant II Jan started in March of 2024 as a temp and was recently hired as our new Parks & Recreation Office Assistant. She assists with activities, garden and shelter registrations and more. Jan spent several years in hospitality, including Onboard Services for Amtrak, Spa and Health Club Manager, and is a certified Group Fitness Instructor. She and her husband, Jacob, have lived in Whatcom County for almost a decade. Jan loves BBQ weekends, watching horror movies and bringing her dog Tank to work. Staff Spotlights
