ADAPTED AQUATICS Adapted Aquatics is a time for individuals, 3 years and older, with special needs to get in the water and work one-on-one with a volunteer pool buddy for one hour per week. Volunteers along with Aquatic Center staff supervision and training will be working with participants toward increasing flexibility, exercising and having fun. Classes offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4:45–5:45pm, October–May. Pre-registration is required. WATER AEROBIC CLASSES The Arne Hanna Aquatic Center offers a variety of shallow water aerobic classes that targets the major muscle groups using the water's resistance to provide calorie-burning workouts. Classes are held in the shallow end of the lap pool. No swimming experience required. DEEP WATER AEROBICS/ DWR INTERVAL CLASSES The Arne Hanna Aquatic Center offers a variety of deep water exercise classes that have zero joint impact with maximum resistance without touching the bottom of the pool. Exercises are performed with flotation equipment on in the dive tank. The focus is on core strength, cardio intensity and full range of motion. Swimming experience required. Maximum 12. KAYAK ROLL Kayak rolling is an open pool time at the Arne Hanna Aquatic Center for people to bring in their kayaks to practice rolling and basic techniques on their own before going out on the open water or just to stay warmed up during the colder months. There is no instructor for this program. The fee is regular admission to the facility and the maximum capacity is 10 kayaks. Sundays 1–2pm, Tuesdays & Thursdays 8–9pm. PUMPKIN PATCH Pick your pumpkin from our patch in the pool. Friends of the Arne Hanna Aquatic Center have donated a patch of pumpkins for us to throw in the pool and they FLOAT! Swim around and pick the pumpkin that suits your fancy. Also take time out to enjoy treats, games and water safety activities. This is a popular event, so come early to be sure to get your pumpkin! Saturday, October 25, 4:30–6:30pm, $5 ARTHRITIS EXERCISE CLASSES This low impact water exercise class is designed for individuals with severe joint problems, compromised motor skills, recuperating from an injury or surgery.
