Facility Rental Info cob.org/parks • (360) 778-7000 21 Lorraine Cowdery Office Assistant II-Administration Lorraine recently joined Parks & Recreation after working with the Bellingham Fire Department the last four years. She has degrees in Speech and Communications and Fashion, and a background in Customer Service. Outside of work, she likes to spend her free time cooking, reading, and re-purposing used textiles. Lorraine looks forward to meeting and working with our community members! Jim Pettinger Recreation Coordinator-Community Enrichment & Special Events We are thrilled to welcome Jim to the Bellingham Parks & Recreation team! Jim is a Wisconsin native and joins the department with programming experience in zoo, library, and school settings. He is excited to create space where young people can express themselves authentically and plan events that give everyone a chance to play. If you see him around, feel free to say hello. Jim enjoys meeting new people and discovering what brings them joy. He also loves cold water plunges, fresh air, and pistachios. Dan Jones Park Technician-Facilities Dan joined the team as a Park Ambassador in 2024 under the Stewardship program and has recently started his position with the Facilities Team! He is originally from the Seattle area and earned a degree in Geophysics from Western Washington University. His work in tourism operations and public lands management has brought him up and down the West Coast and into the deserts of the Southwest. Dan enjoys caving, rockhounding, and spend- ing time with his partner and cat. He is excited to contribute to park goers' connection with public land by supporting accessible and clean City parks! Caldwell Clark Urban Forest Field Supervisor-Park Operations Caldwell joined the City Urban Forestry program as the Park Arborist in 2024. He recently accepted the position of Field Supervisor to continue working throughout the parks and City's open spaces. Caldwell moved to Bellingham in 2014, drawn to the coastal temperate forests and proximity to the North Cascades. With a degree in Forestry from University of Vermont and over a decade of experience working in arboriculture, he is excited to share his knowledge and passion to support and maintain resilient urban forests, parks, and open spaces here in Bellingham. Julie Goodwin Administrative Secretary-Park Operations Julie joined the Parks & Recreation Department in August. She comes from the Bellingham School District where she spent eight years supporting students and staff. Julie earned a bachelor's degree in Recreation from Western Washington University. She is excited to contribute to our department's mission of supporting a healthy community by providing high quality parks and recreation services. In her free time, Julie enjoys e-biking, pickleball, and hiking. Staff Spotlights
