American Red Cross Health
and Safety Classes
Lifeguard Training Course
Learn how to effectively prevent and respond to
water emergencies. The certification includes First
Aid, CPR, AED, Administering Emergency Oxygen,
and Bloodborne Pathogens training. Training is valid
for two years and is accepted nationwide.
Prerequisites: 15 years or older and complete a
swimming pretest at Arne Hanna.
Cost: $200
Dates: Sundays, November 5, 12, 19
Time: 8:00 am–5:30 pm
Registration deadline: October 25
Lifeguarding Instructor Course
Upon successful completion, you will be certified
to instruct basic level Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR,
AED, Bloodborne Pathogens Training, Emergency
Oxygen Administration, and Basic Water Rescue
courses.
Prerequisites: 17 years or older, current Red Cross
Lifeguard certification, swimming pretest and an
online pre-course.
Cost: $200 AHAC course fee + $35 Red Cross fee
Dates: Friday–Sunday, December 8-10
Time: Fri, 6:30-9:00pm, Sat-Sun, 8:00am-5:30pm

Volunteer with our Adapted Aquatics program!
No experience is required. You will work with
participants with special needs to increase
mobility, exercise, and build new friendships.
Plus, volunteer hours look great on college
applications and resumés!

Aquatics
Our adapted aquatics
program is for
individuals, 3 years
or older, with special
needs. Participants get
in the water and work
one-on-one with a
volunteer to increase swim skills, flexibility,
exercise, and have fun!

Session 1: October 10-31;
October 11-November 1; or
October 12-November 2
Session 2: November 7-December 5;
November 8 - December 6; or
November 9-December 7
(no classes November 21-23)
Time: 5:15-6:00 pm
Cost: $36.00/session
