COMMUNIT Y WORK PARTIES
The Bellingham Parks Volunteer Program empowers our community to have the tools, knowledge, and
skills to care for, restore, and protect Bellingham's parks, trails, and open spaces. cob.org/parkvolunteer
Get outside and give back this spring and summer with
the Bellingham Parks Volunteer Program. Join us at one
of our weekly small-scale events as we restore wildlife
habitat, maintain trails, pick up litter, plant native shrubs
and trees, remove invasive species, make new friends,
learn new skills, and have fun!
We provide tools, gloves, and direction. You wear your
mask, sturdy shoes, and layers appropriate for the
weather and bring a water bottle and snack. All ages
welcome. Group size is limited and pre-registration is

APRIL
10 – Squalicum Creek Park
Help enhance Willow Spring by caring for native
plantings in this impressive restoration area.
17 – Whatcom Creek by City Hall
Join the Bellingham Kiwanis as we work to restore salmon
habitat and cleanup this well-loved trail.
22-24 – Earth Day Community Work Parties
Join one of our community-led work parties throughout
the city in celebration of Earth Day. Times vary. See

MAY
1 – Little Squalicum Creek Park
Come help restore wildlife habitat in this lovely park near
Bellingham Technical College.
8 – Maritime Heritage Park
This special restoration site in the heart of downtown
needs some love to fight back the invasive species and
care for native plantings.
15 – West Street Trail
Join Park Steward Bev as we care for this darling trail
near Squalicum Creek Park.
22– Memorial Park
Join the Bellingham Rotary Club as we clean up the
memorials and grounds in preparation for Memorial Day.

JUNE
5 – Rock Hill Park
This hidden park in the York Neighborhood needs some
love! We'll be removing Himalayan blackberry and
sprucing up the butterfly garden.
12 – Parks Native Plant Nursery
Come help us prep our nursery for the summer! We'll be
weeding, mulching, and caring for our potted plants.
19 – Euclid Park
The English Ivy monsters are taking over Euclid Park!
Join us we push back the ivy and restore this beautiful
hidden gem.
26 – Cornwall Rose Garden
Come help our Park Stewards care for this special rose
garden at the peak of bloom in the heart of the Cornwall
neighborhood.

Become a Park Steward and
Volunteer Independently
Park Stewards are long-term volunteers who
work independently after receiving training and
direction. Park Stewards can volunteer individually
or as a group. This is a great way to get the whole
