Aquatics SPRING/SUMMER PLAYBOOK 2021 | BELLINGHAM PARKS & RECREATION 4 The Arne Hanna Aquatic Center is open with limited use and hours. Activities and hours are subject to change based on the current State guidelines for Water Recreational Facilities. To stay up to date on our hours and programs, visit: cob.org/ahac and the Bellingham Parks and Recreation Facebook page. Programs Hours of Operation will be limited to Monday-Friday 6:00 am-9:00 pm, and Saturday & Sunday 1:00-6:00 pm, and are subject to change based on State COVID-19 guidelines, programs, facility projects and staffing. All activities are registration only for current pass holders. (Exception: Shower users and Swim Lessons). To register, visit cob.org/register or call (360) 778-7665. Our pools have limited availability for lap swim, deep water running, water aerobics, water walking, preschool/ family swim, swim lessons and hydrotherapy pool use. Current pass holders can register for the next week, (Mon-Sun) of activities beginning at 8:00 am on Wednesdays. Swim Lessons with maximum two parent/child participants in the water and instructor on deck for four 25 minutes classes, meet once per week M-Th. Registration for each session begins the week prior to the session at 8:00 am on Mondays. Activity registration is limited to one 45-minute timeslot per day, per pass holder participant, and a maximum of three 45-minute timeslots per week for lap swim, deep water running, water aerobics, water walking, preschool/ family swim or hydrotherapy pool use. Registration for the Preschool/Family Swim must be done by calling (360) 778-7665. No walk-ins allowed for activities except Showers. Showers available on a first come first serve basis during regular hours of operation. Max of 30 minutes allowed in the facility. Check-in with the Head Lifeguard is required for all registered activities with staff providing participant health screenings, directions for entering and exiting locker rooms and pool areas, activity location, allowed uses and time limits. Health and Safety We are committed to keeping you healthy and safe, but we cannot guarantee you will not be exposed to COVID-19. We rely on you to protect yourself and others: • Wash your hands often and avoid touching your face. • Maintain your distances from others (6-feet on land and in the water). • Face coverings are required to cover your mouth and nose in the facility except while exercising in the water (masks are required in the hydrotherapy pool. • Avoid touching surfaces. • Please stay home if you or any family members are sick. The facility will maintain as much fresh air flow as possible throughout, including the natatorium, locker rooms, and offices. Temperature of the air and water may be lowered for comfort due to the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning. City staff will complete a deep cleaning of the facility daily. Aquatic staff will complete touch point cleaning on an hourly basis of door handles, counters, benches, plexiglass, ladders, toilets, sinks and showers. Use of drinking fountains, lockers, Aquatic Center swimming equipment (kickboards, pullbuoys, belts, etc), starting blocks, diving board and waterslide will be unavailable. ARNE HANNA AQUATIC CENTER Bloedel Donovan Lifeguarded Swimming Area Bellingham Parks and Recreation and Arne Hanna Aquatic Center staff are planning to open and operate a lifeguarded swimming area this summer. A designated swimming area will be made available with lifeguards on duty daily 12:00-7:00 pm from late June or early July through August. The hours and dates are subject to change based on the current State COVID-19 guidelines, Park projects and staffing.
