8 spring 2017 leisure guide 360-778-7000 PRESCHOOL OPEN GYM For 5 year olds and Younger Don't let blustery, winter weather keep you at home! Come on over to Bloedel Donovan's Multipurpose Room, the perfect dry place for your preschooler to have some fun. Bring a scooter or favorite active toy, no bicycles please. We provide balls, hoops, mats, etc. for everyone's enjoyment. Socialize with other parents while your preschooler plays with other children his/her own age! This is a free, staffed program; yet parental supervision is required at all times. AGES: 5 years old and younger DAYS/DATES: Monday–Friday, through June 2 TIME: 9 a.m.–12 noon LOCATION: Bloedel Donovan Multipurpose Room COST: FREE! ARNE HANNA AQUATIC SWIM LESSONS The Arne Hanna Aquatic Center uses the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program for the youth level swim lessons and a modified version of the Learn-to-Swim program designed for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. The aquatic center also offers a parent child program for children 6 months to 3 years and their parents. To sign up for classes you may walk in, phone in, go on-line at www.cob.org/ezreg or mail in your registration. Registration is done on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are unsure of your child's level or if it has been more than 1 year since your child's last swim lessons, please contact the Aquatic Center to schedule a placement test. Placement tests are free and take about five minutes to complete. We welcome all children ages 18 to 36 months and their parents. See how creative those little hands can be as they experiment and explore with paint, paper, play dough, glitter, goop and gak. The child friendly environment at Whatcom Center for Early Learning will spark your child's imagination and self-expression while promoting socialization and motor development.
