Introduc on Welcome to Depot Market Square, a flexible mul -purpose community gathering place in the 1100 block of Railroad Avenue. The facility includes a 5,200 square foot pavilion building with public restrooms (available during events only) and an 8,400 square foot open courtyard with some covered shelters. The occupancy ra ng for the pavilion is 299 persons. Construc on of the Depot Market Square was completed in the summer of 2006 on the historic site of the 1895 Railroad Depot, originally built by the Bellingham Bay and Bri sh Columbia Railroad. Depot Market Square hosts the Bellingham Farmers' Market most Saturdays. The building is available for rental every day EXCEPT on Farmers' Market Saturdays. Rentals on Market Saturdays cannot start prior to 5 p.m. On weekdays the courtyard is not available for rentals as it is used for monthly permit parking for area residents and employees. The en re facility (building and courtyard) can be rented evenings or Sundays throughout the year, Saturdays (when the Farmers' Market is not in session) or limited City Holidays.
