Baker Rock & Gem Club invites you to the RRR Rock Swap and Sale where rocks and minerals from world-wide sources, labeled fossils, gemstones, identified petrified woods, thunder eggs, hand-made and fine jewelry, rockhounding tools, and other rock related material, can be bought, sold or swapped. Proceeds help the club's WWU scholarship program. Do come join us to learn, shop and enjoy. DAY/DATE: Saturday, November 7 TIME: 10am-5:30pm (set-up at 8am) LOCATION: Bloedel Donovan Park, 2214 Electric Ave. COST: Free admission (cost for a 10x10 space is $25) INFO: 360-366-0121 or mtbakerrockclub.org FAMILY TRIPS Recreation Without Borders specializes in trips, tours and adventures throughout the Northwest and lower BC. Registration fees include supervision, transportation and admission fees but do not include food, beverages or other purchases unless specifically noted. Participants should bring money for food and other purchases as well as wear weather appropriate, layered clothing and comfortable, supportive walking shoes. All trips depart from and return to Cornwall Park, 3424 Meridian Street in Bellingham. HOWE SOUND FJORDS, SEA TO SKY GONDOLA AND SQUAMISH, BC Travel north today to the stunningly beautiful Sea to Sky Highway featuring spectacular views of mountains, rivers, valleys and the Howe Sound fjords. First stop: the Sea to Sky Gondola. Here your journey continues up to the Summit Lodge, Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge, numerous walking trails, viewing platforms and much more. Enjoy your own picnic lunch (no fresh fruits or veggies please) or grab a bite to eat at one of the mountain-top eateries. Next stop: the Squamish Adventure Centre. Upon arrival watch a movie about the local First Nations tribes, learn more about the Sea to Sky Corridor, visit the local gift shop or enjoy an afternoon coffee or treat. Please note: Proof of citizenship (current passport, DMV enhanced driver's license or NEXUS card) is required to cross the border. Head to Seattle for a fun day at Woodland Park Zoo and the adjoining Phinney Ridge neighborhood. Arrive early and see all the amazing furry and feathered friends including lions, and tigers, and bears and more. The zoo's 92-acres and award-winning exhibits are home to more than 1,000 animals representing 300 species from around the world. In addition, explore nearby gardens and enjoy a no-host meal or your own picnic lunch. Then end the day with an unbelievably delicious afternoon treat at A la Mode Pies. Seattle's newest art experience showcases the most significant works of internationally acclaimed glass artist and pioneer Dale Chihuly and includes eight galleries, the centerpiece glasshouse and a lush garden. After exploring the CGG time will then be given to enjoy a no-host lunch at the Collections Café or nearby Seattle Center before heading over to Pike Place Market. Once here participants will have time to browse the countless shops, stalls and boutiques for fresh flowers, produce and gifts galore!
