We provide the tools, plants, gloves and direction. Wear closed toed shoes and long pants and come dressed for the weather! Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Slide, swim, soak, splash around, dive, play water polo, hang out with friends. We provide a safe and supervised setting for middle school youth to spend their Friday night. DAYS/DATES: Fridays, Sept 25, Oct 2, 16, 23, Nov 6, 13, 20, Dec 4, 11 TIME: 9–10:30pm LOCATION: Arne Hanna Aquatic Center COST: FREE AGES: Open to middle school age youth CELEBRATE BELLINGHAM'S ARBOR DAY AT SQUALICUM CREEK PARK! Mayor Linville will kick off the day by planting a tree and reading an Arbor Day proclamation. Then join a volunteer work part on site. Help Matt accomplish his goals for an Eagle Scout Project by removing invasive plants and planting shrubs and trees on the Squalicum Creek Park hillside. The Parks Volunteer Program will supply the tools, gloves, plants and directions. Wear closed toed shoes and long pants and come dressed for the weather! DATE: Saturday, October 17 TIMES: 9:30am–noon COST: FREE! LOCATION: Squalicum Creek Park PUMPKIN PATCH IN THE POOL Pick your pumpkin from our patch in the pool. Friends have donated a patch of pumpkins for us to throw in the pool and they float! Swim around and pick the pumpkin that suits your fancy. Also take time out to enjoy treats, games and water safety activities. AGES: All ages DAY/DATE: Saturday, October 24 TIME: 4:30–6:30pm LOCATION: Arne Hanna Aquatic Center COST: Regular admission + $5 to swim and take a pumpkin home COORDINATOR: Justin Shields THRILLINGHAM! DATE: Saturday, October 31 TIME: Show starts promptly at 9pm LOCATION: Maritime Heritage Park RESOLUTION WALK - RUN Start the new year off right with a brisk jog or walk around beautiful Lake Padden. It's free and it starts at 11 a.m. sharp. We won't be formally timing the event, but we'll have a clock up for those curious to check their time or race their buddies.
