Family/Community SPRING/SUMMER PLAYBOOK 2023 | BELLINGHAM PARKS & RECREATION 20 DAY/DATE: Saturday, August 5 TIME: 11:00 am–3:00 pm AGES: All ages LOCATION: Civic Stadium COST: FREE COORDINATOR: Billy Reeves Kids Fest Bellingham Parks and Recreation and WestEdge Credit Union invite you and your family to this one-of-a-kind event! Kids Fest is one of the community's most loved offerings every summer. Come see for yourself and enjoy the tremendous variety of activities available to kids and families of Whatcom County. New this year… first 150 kids in the gate get a t-shirt! And, stop by our Sensory-Friendly station for headphones and tinker toys! Does your organization offer recreational, educational or health related activities for Whatcom County children? Can you provide an activity and prizes at the event? Shakespeare in The Park Join French Toast Theatre three nights a week for six weeks this summer at Maritime Heritage Park. We will cast, costume, and perform Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream at the end of this program! DAYS/DATES: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays: July 11-August 17. Performance is Friday, August 18, 6:00-8:00 pm in the Amphitheatre TIME: 5:30–8:00 pm AGES: 15 years and older LOCATION: Maritime Heritage Park Pavilion COST: $80 Pre-registration is required COORDINATORS: Rosa Caldwell/Madeline Hunter MIN: 5 / MAX: 15 Big Band Bonanza Swing Connection, Bellingham's Big Band, will be joined again this summer by the Skagit Swings from Mount Vernon and the A'Town Band from Anacortes in a sizzling after- noon of classics from the golden era of Swing, along with a selection of more contemporary swing arrangements. Get ready to get up and dance or kick back and soak up some of the world-renowned Village Green sunshine. DAY/DATE: Sunday, August 20 TIME: 12:30–5:00 pm AGES: All ages LOCATION: Fairhaven Village Green COST: FREE COORDINATORS: Lance Romo/Tim Buckley Swing Connection Plays the Village Green Join Swing Connection, Bellingham's Big Band for a sunny afternoon of music with classics from the golden era of Swing, along with a foot-tapping selection of more contemporary arrangements. Dancing encouraged as is lazy lounging on the lawn — if you can dig it.
