Youth/ Teen SPRING/SUMMER PLAYBOOK 2021 | BELLINGHAM PARKS & RECREATION 10 VolunTeens Get outside, get dirty, and give back! Each week Volun- Teens will develop leadership skills, steward their parks, make new friends, work with a variety of organizations and best of all, have fun while making a difference in their community. Participants will receive a certificate for volunteer hours at the end of each week. Itineraries for each week will be posted by April 30 on: cob.org/recreation/youth DAYS/DATES: Monday–Thursday, July 6-August 12 Please note: First week is Tuesday-Friday TIME: 9:30 am-2:30 pm AGES: 12-16 LOCATION: Varies each week COST: $80 per week COORDINATOR: Lauren Woodmansee MIN: 6 / MAX: 10 VolunTeens Things To Remember: • Wear good walking/hiking shoes (no crocs, no open toed sandals or flip flops). • Wear long pants and bring a pair of shorts to change into. • Dress in layers and bring rain/wind jacket and sun hat (i.e. dress for the weather). • Bring filled water bottle, lunch and a snack each day (Allergen notice: we are a nut-free program). • Bring Sunscreen. • Have a fun and positive attitude! • Expect to wear a face mask and remain physically distanced throughout the day. • Arrive between 9:15-9:30 am each morning for check-in and daily health screening (see details below). Other important information: • Participants may need to be dropped off at a variety of locations each week based on specific itineraries. • If participant has special needs, please call (360) 778-7000 to discuss possible adaptation arrangements. • In the case of bad weather, and if necessary, participants will be notified of alternative daily plan. Check in Health Screening Process: Participants check in between 9:15-9:30 am each day. Adult who is dropping off participant will fill out the Symptom Check Form and hand to screener. Temperature of participant will be taken, and form will be verbally reviewed. Upon completion, participant will then join other Volunteens.
