This park is part of the Connelly Creek nature area. Connelly Creek Nature Area was established in 1981. Some of the largest Sitka Spruce trees in the city are found near the creek. Trails include rela vely flat terrain along Connelly Creek through a wooded canopy and open meadows. Harriet Spanel Park This neighborhood park includes a loop trail around an open field. The small "skate dot" provides a place for skateboarders big and small to prac ce their tricks. The park also includes a picnic shelter, swings, playground, and picnic tables. Highland Heights Park This neighborhood park includes an open lawn area, playground, swings, and paved pathways. Julianna Park Julianna Park, acquired by the City in 2007, features trails, picnic tables, benches and interpre ve signs. Addi onal park development is planned for the future. Birding opportuni es abound with the variety of habitat. Cordata Trails connect Meadowbrook Court to Julianna Park to June Road, with connec ons to Cordata Elementary School. Dogs must be on leash. Lake Padden Park Lake Padden Park is a community park established in 1972. Facili es include picnic shelters, playground, beach with swimming area, restrooms, trails, parking, basketball court, so ball fields, mul purpose fields, barbecue grills, picnic tables, and fenced off leash dog park. Lake Padden was once the drinking water source for Bellingham. Lake Padden Golf Course is a beau ful 18 hole golf course with a full service facility offering complete prac ce facili es, golf lessons, snack bar and club rentals. www.lakepaddengolf.com (360) 738-7400. Dogs are not permi ed on the golf course. Lake Padden includes a moderately graded loop trail around the lake through open and wooded areas. There are addi onal, moderately sloped dirt trails through the woods south and east of the lake with mostly hilly terrain. The park includes a horse trailer parking area at the Wilkins Street trailhead. Horses must yield to pedestrians on all trails. Padden Gorge Trail follows the creek from the dam west of the lake to 36th Street. Dogs must be on leash, except where noted. There are two entrances to Lake Padden Park on Samish Way. Use the east entrance to access the Lake Padden Golf Course, boat launch, playground, picnic shelters, ball fields, and dog off leash area. Use the west entrance to access the tennis courts and fishing dock. There are reservable facili es at the park, including a picnic shelter. Laurel Park This neighborhood park includes a playground, half basketball court, open play field, and picnic tables. Lee Memorial Park This park is located behind the downtown branch of the Bellingham Public Library at 210 Central Avenue in the Central Business District. Lee Memorial Park is commonly referred to as the "Library Lawn."
