Bellingham Parks & Recreation Go to cob.org/recreation for information regarding: Trail guide * Park fees * Dog off-leash areas * Rules and regulations Chuckanut Bay Shorelands Northeast Chuckanut Bay is Bellingham's richest and most biologically diverse estuary. Birds and other wildlife are easily disturbed by human ac vity, especially when gathering during migra on or roos ng along the shore. Please avoid walking on the mudflats and marshes and limit your travel to improved roads and trails and upper beach areas. The dal basin is also known as "Mud Bay" a er a naviga onal descrip on used on some charts and maps. Shellfish gathering is ONLY allowed under Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife permi ng regula ons and ONLY when the area is open under the authority of Health Officials. There is limited parking at this site. This is an excellent site for birding, wildlife, shoreline geology and botanical observa on. Car-top/hand-carry boat launching is available when des are at 6+ feet. Civic Athletic Complex Civic Field Athle c Complex is a community park established in the mid 1950's. Facili es include lighted football/soccer stadium, track and field facili es, four lighted and two unlighted so ball fields, lighted baseball stadium, aqua c center, playground, skate park, bike park, privately operated indoor ice arena and soccer facility, parking, restrooms and trails. An easy gravel trail begins near the Sportsplex on Civic Field Way. Follow the path through the woods, then along Frank Geri Fields to a loop trail through the woods east of Puget Street. This trail connects to the Salmon Woods trails and to Whatcom Creek Trail. Cornwall Park Cornwall Park is a community park established in 1909. Facili es include two picnic shelters, two playgrounds, a spray park, disc golf, trails, restrooms, parking, basketball court, tennis & pickle ball courts, mul purpose field, horseshoe pits, barbecue grills and picnic tables. There is no overnight camping permi ed in the park. There are reservable facili es at the park, including a picnic shelter. Please check availability on our EZ Reg website, or contact the Parks & Recrea on Main Office. Cornwall Park includes level gravel and asphalt paved trails in the park interior. Gravel trails are located in the wooded areas. Squalicum Creek runs through Cornwall Park and provides seasonal interest with salmon runs and na ve plants. Dogs must be on leash. Maps of the Cornwall Park disc golf course and a Cornwall Park history brochure are available at the Park office. Cornwall Tot Lot The Cornwall Tot Lot is located in the 2300 block of Cornwall Avenue between C and D Streets. The playground is suitable for li le ones and the park includes an open lawn and benches within a fully- fenced site.
