Facili es include parking and trails. The park is a star ng point for Whatcom County and Larrabee State Park's extensive trail systems in the Chuckanut Mountains. Arroyo Park includes moderate to difficult trails through densely wooded area. Chuckanut Creek runs through this park. Dogs may be off leash and must be under voice control at all mes. Big Rock Garden Big Rock Garden was established in 1992. Nestled in a grove of evergreens above Lake Whatcom sits a unique city park showcasing original sculptures in a 2.5 acre garden. Meandering paths wander through the peaceful landscape of Big Rock Garden Park, where nature and art complement each other. The Park boasts over 37 permanent works by dis nguished interna onal and local ar sts. Each May, the Friends of Big Rock Garden Park and the Bellingham Parks & Recrea on Department sponsor a Mother's Day celebra on with a focus on the garden and the opening of a new seasonal sculpture show. Seasonal change in the garden inspires a new experience with each visit. Rhododendrons and azaleas announce spring with brilliant color, over 100 varie es of maples signal the arrival of fall, and the conifers res ul winter hues complete the year. Birchwood Park Birchwood Park is a neighborhood park established in 1996. Facili es include playground, picnic shelter, parking and open field. Dogs must be on leash in Birchwood Park. Bloedel Donovan Park Bloedel Donovan Park is a community park established in 1946. Facili es include a community building, pavilion, boat rentals, food concessions, playground, swimming area and beach, parking, restrooms, trails, basketball court, sand volleyball courts, mul purpose field, boat launch, picnic tables and barbecues. Located on impressive Lake Whatcom, it is a favorite beach hang out in the summer. Boulevard Park Boulevard Park is a community park established in 1980. Located on Bellingham Bay, this park is a favorite for sunset viewing and recrea ng by the waterfront. Facili es include playground, picnic tables, barbecues, interpre ve displays, performance stage, trails, parking, restrooms, and pocket beaches. There is also a coffee shop with fireplace, wireless internet and views of Bellingham Bay. Dogs must be on leash. Broadway Park Broadway park is a neighborhood park established in 1918. The park features open lawn area, heritage trees around the perimeter, a back stop for kick ball or youth baseball prac ce, playground, restroom, and drinking fountain. Carl Lobe Park This neighborhood park was donated to the city in 1905 and features a small tot lot play area, baseball backstop and open field. Located in the Columbia neighborhood, it's a short walk to Elizabeth Park.
