10 summer 2017 leisure guide 360-778-7000 PROG# 7369 DAYS/DATES: Monday–Friday, July 10–14 AGES: 9–13 years TIME: 9am–3pm LOCATION: Bloedel Donovan Pavilion COST: $115 CAMP DIRECTOR: Nick James MIN: 10 MAX: 13 SURVIVOR Capture the flag, obstacle courses, food eating competitions, water balloon fights, tribal crafts, initiative games, team building skills, swimming, positive cooperation and a whole lot more will keep your kids active, busy, thinking, laughing and making new friends this week. Campers will be part of a group that has to work together to achieve common goals in this very popular camp. Please note the wider age range. It's recommended that younger campers be comfortable in a positive, yet competitive, environment shared with older campers. PROG# 7370 DAYS/DATES: Monday–Friday, July 17–21 AGES: 6–13 years TIME: 9am–3pm LOCATION: Bloedel Donovan Pavilion COST: $135 CAMP DIRECTOR: Nick James MIN: 16 MAX: 35 THEATRE & IMPROV COMEDY CAMP Join us for a week of improv theatre and fun as we head down to Bellingham's own Upfront Theatre to yuk it up during daily improv workshops taught by the Theatre's actors. We will also write, cast, costume, and stage our own production. All skills and comfort levels are welcome to this warm, inclusive and non- pressure environment. (Please note camp drop-off and pick-up locations.) PROG# 7372 DAYS/DATES: Monday–Friday, July 24–28 AGES: 10–14 years TIME: 9am–3pm LOCATION: Upfront Theatre (drop-off); Bloedel Donovan Pavilion (pick-up) COST: $160 CAMP DIRECTOR: Nick James MIN: 10 MAX: 14 ART-RAGEOUS! Spend this week working with different mediums to produce incredible creations! You'll experience a wide variety of projects, so bring a paint shirt every day. Campers will also be heading to Bellingham's CreativiTea to paint a piece of pottery! PROG# 7371 DAYS/DATES: Monday–Friday, July 31– August 4 AGES: 9–13 years TIME: 9am–3pm LOCATION: Bloedel Donovan Pavilion COST: $130 CAMP DIRECTOR: Nick James MIN: 10 MAX: 13 FUN WITH FOOD Cooking, recipes, and fun food presentations! Yum! This week we will be exploring everything edible. We'll create and eat at least one dish a day. But we won't stop there! We'll stretch the limits of food—creating art, sculpture and imaginative displays from ingredients you'd usually find in the supermarket. PROG# 7373 DAYS/DATES: Monday–Friday, August 7–11 AGES: 9–13 years TIME: 9am–3pm LOCATION: Bloedel Donovan Pavilion COST: $120 CAMP DIRECTOR: Nick James MIN: 10 MAX: 13 SUMMER CAMP TEEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM Gain volunteer experience this summer through programs put on by Bellingham Parks and Recreation! We are on the lookout for strong teen leaders, ages 15-18, who would be interested in volunteering with our summer camp programs this year. Responsibilities will include: assisting camp staff and campers with games and crafts, attending walking field trips, and helping to foster positive, memorable interaction with kids. This is a fun way to gain skills for future employment, build your resume and have a lasting impact on the Bellingham community! Please contact our office if interested.
