But we won't stop there! We'll stretch the limits of food--creating art, sculpture and imaginative displays from ingredients you'd usually find in the supermarket. PROG# 6070 DAYS/DATES: Monday–Friday, August 8–12 AGES: 9–13 years TIME: 9am–3pm LOCATION: Bloedel Donovan Pavilion COST: $120 CAMP DIRECTOR: Nick James MIN: 10 MAX: 14 SUPER SITTER TRAINING This popular class is available for youth ages 13 and older and teaches basic babysitting skills along with skills caring for children with disabilities. Participants will gain confidence in caring for children, particularly for children with special needs, and they will also enjoy the learning environment of the camp as they meet new friends. This training also includes a day of infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. We recommend participants have some prior babysitting experience. For questions and registration forms please call 360-255-2056 or info@p2pwhatcom.org DATES: Monday–Wednesday, June 27–29 TIME: 9:30am–3:30pm LOCATION: St. Luke's Community Health Education Center, 3333 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham SMART TRIPS ADVENTURE CAMP Adventure, exercise, self-esteem, confidence and independence. Kids 12-14 can get all of these (and more!) by learning to walk, bicycle and ride the bus for transportation. The Smart Trips Adventure Camp will train kids to travel safely and independently in Bellingham. Whatcom Smart Trips Staff will use games, field trips and classroom activities to teach map-reading, walking and bicycle safety, and bus route planning. All skills will then be put to the test during a super-fun Urban Transportation Scavenger Hunt! Must attend all training sessions (Mon-Thurs) to compete in the Urban Transportation Challenge on Friday. Bring a bike to ride on Monday and Wednesday. Youth can sign up for several camps, we will always try to create groups based on experience and skill level. Mandatory gear: bike helmet and a bike with brakes, highly recommended gear include eye protection (sunglasses) and bike gloves; knee and elbow padding is optional. Please bring swim gear and a water bottle daily. Lunches, healthy snacks, and water to refill bottles are provided.
