FALL PLAYBOOK 2026 | BELLINGHAM PARKS & RECREATION Aquatics 50 TRAINING COURSES Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Be ready to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children, and infants. Course covers: • First Aid basics • CPR techniques • AED operation Receive a digital certificate valid for 2 years! Cost: $125 + tax Date: Saturday, October 3 Time: 9:00 am–1:00 pm Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Course Learn how to save lives and stay safe around water! This course prepares instructors to teach: • Basic Level Lifeguarding • CPR/AED Use and First Aid • Emergency Oxygen Administration • Bloodborne Pathogens Training • Basic Water Safety Courses Training includes classroom lessons + hands-on practice. Nationally recognized certificate. Valid for 2 years! Prereqs: 17 years or older. Current lifeguard certificate. Cost: $250 + tax First Session Dates: 12/11 thru 12/13/26 Time: 8:00 am–5:30 pm Lifeguard Instructor Review Available, $250 + tax Sunday, November 15 / 8:00am – 5:30pm Current LGI certificate required Lifeguard Training Pretest: 150 yard swim, followed by two minutes of treading water with no hands, followed by another 50 yard swim. Swims must be crawl or breast stroke. 20 yard swim using crawl or breast stroke, dive 7-10ft to retrieve a 10 lb. brick, return to surface and swim back to the starting point with both hands on the brick, face out of the water. No goggles. (Time limit of 1 min. 40 sec.) Dive to the bottom of the dive tank to retrieve a 10 lb. brick. No goggles. ADAPTED AQUATICS Our Adapted Aquatics program is for individuals, three years and older, with special needs. Participants get in the water and work one-on-one with a volunteer to improve swimming skills and flexibility, while exercising, socializing, and having fun! Participant Information Registration begins 10/5 $50 for 5 lessons Wednesdays Dates: 10/14 thru 11/18/26 (No meeting 11/11) Time: 4:30pm – 5:15pm VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Register today!
