Parks Volunteer Program FALL PLAYBOOK 2025 | BELLINGHAM PARKS & RECREATION 20 COMMUNITY WORK PARTIES Get outside and give back this Fall at one of our weekly volunteer work parties. We will restore wildlife habitat, maintain trails, pick up litter, plant native shrubs and trees, remove invasive species, make new friends, learn new skills, and (of course) have fun! We provide tools, gloves, and direction while following all current safety protocols. Wear sturdy shoes, layers appropriate for the weather, and bring a water bottle and snack. All ages and abilities welcome. Pre-registration is required. For more information and to register visit: volunteerbellingham.org/need Scan QR code to learn more and get registered today! 9 am to noon 10 am to 1 pm NOVEMBER 15 – Cordata Park Support riparian and meadow restoration efforts at one of Bellingham's newest and most popular parks! We will be removing invasive plants and planting native trees and shrubs near East Bear Creek, joined by NSEA! 22 – Cornwall Park (North) Join us at the northern entrance as we continue efforts to remove invasive Himalayan Blackberry and English Ivy. We will also be replanting with pollinator-friendly native trees and shrubs near Squalicum Creek! DECEMBER 6 – Birchwood Park Help us continue our invasive removal, mulching, and planting efforts at beautiful Birchwood Park near the pump track! 13 – Connelly Creek Nature Area (South) Join us and our friends from NSEA as we restore wildlife habitat and protect wetlands in this lovely park on the south side of Bellingham. 9 am to noon 9 am to noon The Bellingham Parks Volunteer Program empowers our community to have the tools, knowledge and skills to care for, restore, and protect Bellingham's parks, trails and open spaces. OCTOBER 11 – Whatcom Creek by City Hall Join us and the Bellingham Kiwanis to restore salmon habitat and clean up this well-loved trail corridor. 18 – Big Rock Garden Park Come support us and the Friends of Big Rock Garden Park as we clean sculptures and tidy up this peaceful park. 25 – Whatcom Falls Park at Derby Pond Help us improve salmon habitat with COB and NSEA by removing invasive species and replanting native trees and shrubs for Make A Difference Day & Arbor Day at Whatcom Falls! NOVEMBER 1 – Happy Valley Park Connelly Creek, which runs through this neighborhood park, needs our help! We'll plant native trees and shrubs and remove harmful invasive vegetation. 8 – Sehome Hill Arboretum Come help us restore the southern entrance area, near the new House of Healing site, with pollinator-friendly native plants!
