cob.org/parks • (360) 778-7000 Facility Rental Info 15 Caryn Regimbal Administrative Coordinator Caryn Regimbal (she/her/hers) joined us after working in higher education for more than 20 years, most recently at Skagit Valley College. Caryn supports the Parks and Recreation team by providing administrative assistance with hiring, budget planning, program administration, and other administrative tasks. In her spare time, she plays volleyball, quilts, and maintains a large houseplant collection with her spouse. She also enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors in Whatcom County, including in her garden, watching soccer and hiking on local trails. Adam Porter Park Specialist in Electrical/HVAC Adam transferred to us from the city's Public Works Department. He's been very busy completing a variety of electric upgrades and repairs in our parks and facilities including LED lighting conversions and other energy efficient upgrades. His work is shining brightly! Taylor Merlina Park Worker — Urban Forestry Taylor was selected to join the "Tree" team after working the past two seasons and increasing his arboriculture skills. Working alongside the arborists he assists with hazard tree removals, pruning, tree planting, and more. Tyler Herman Park Worker — Trails Tyler has a vast knowledge of different areas of grounds work, trail work, and restoration from years of experience in different areas of the country. We are glad he's here! Patrick Greenberg Parks Ambassador Patrick was promoted to full-time in July. Working out of Maritime Heritage Park, he makes sure our downtown parks and venues are kept safe and clean. He also helps with outreach at Elizabeth Park and Depot Market Square. Ryan Robie Parks Volunteer Program Coordinator Ryan was a longtime volunteer park steward and Recreation Instructor before becoming our first full-time Park Ambassador. He was recently promoted to our Parks Volunteer Program Coordinator. If there is a volunteer task to be coordinated or completed, Ryan is our go to! Freya Fradenburgh Parks Worker — Horticulture Freya first joined our team as a Parks Volunteer Program AmeriCorps member. Upon completion of her term she joined our seasonal horticulture crew. Her knowledge of plants, grounds maintenance, skills and enthusiasm are unmatched! Whitney McCormick Park Technician — Facilities Maintenance Whitney was promoted to his new role after working two seasons with us. He is skilled in a variety of tasks related to facility maintenance and enjoys his interactions with the public. Staff Spotlights PROMOTIONS Our programs, parks and trails continued to flourish and grow in 2022. We are very pleased to have promoted many of our hard-working staff this past year as positions opened up. Drake Graves Parks Technician — Trails Drake joined our Trails team after working recently at the Sudden Valley Parks and Golf Course. He made an immediate positive impact to the maintenance of our 84 miles of trails. His experience including grounds and trails maintenance as well as large project renovation is hedge and shoulders above the rest!
