Hundreds of years old, popular dances include the Highland Fling and Sword Dance which are featured at local Highland Games. Throughout the classes lively bagpipe music accompanies dancers while learning the intricate footwork. Highland dance has evolved to become an elite competitive dance sport around the world. Participants should wear light clothing. Dance shoes are not required. Irish Step Dance Learn a jig or reel in this fun and energetic class. Irish dance shows appeared on the world stage in the 1990's and the traditional soft and hard shoe dancing maintains popularity today. Lively music and fancy footwork get dancers' feet flying in no time. Participants should wear light clothing. Dance shoes are not required.
