We provide the tools, plants, gloves and direction. Wear closed toed shoes and long pants and come dressed for the weather! Volunteers of all ages are welcome. DAYS/DATES: Saturdays starting September 17 COST: Free TIMES & Details on Parks Volunteer Program webpage LOCATIONS: https://www.cob.org/volunteer CELEBRATE ARBOR DAY & MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY AT SQUALICUM CREEK PARK! Kick off the tree planting season by celebrating this day service with Bellingham Parks, Public Works Natural Resources Division, and Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA). We'll be removing invasive plants and planting natives to improve the urban forest surrounding the park. We'll supply the tools, gloves, plants and directions. Wear closed toed shoes and long pants and come dressed for the weather! Meet at the picnic shelter. Parking in the lot. DATE: Saturday, October 22 TIMES: 9am–noon COST: FREE! LOCATION: Squalicum Creek Park PUMPKIN PATCH IN THE POOL Pick your pumpkin from our patch in the pool. Friends have donated a patch of pumpkins for us to throw in the pool and they float! Swim around and pick the pumpkin that suits your fancy. Also take time out to enjoy treats, games and water safety activities. AGES: All ages DAY/DATE: Saturday, October 22 TIME: 4:30–6:30pm LOCATION: Arne Hanna Aquatic Center COST: $5 to swim and take a pumpkin home COORDINATOR: Justin Shields BOO! AT BLOEDEL CARNIVAL For children Preschool through 2nd grade, this candy-free carnival is back! Try your luck at over a dozen game booths like skeleton scramble, freaky fishpond, pumpkin bowling, tombstone roll, and more! There is a prizes galore and everybody is always a winner!
