Some of the interactive topics will cover: Alternative Communications, What is behavior?, What is inclusion, and what does that have to do with me? and How can we adapt activities for all ability levels? This training also includes a day of infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (some babysitting experience highly recommended). Trained Super Sitters will have an opportunity to assist and run children's activities at our annual Summer Family Barbecue on Saturday, July 11 at Bloedel Donovan Park. DATE: Monday–Wednesday, June 29–July 1 TIME: 9:30am–3pm LOCATION: St. Luke's Community Health Education Center, 3333 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham COST: $95 (partial scholarships are available) MOUNTAIN BIKING SUMMER CAMP This is a fantastic opportunity to play on bikes for five days to improve mountain biking skills for youth. Our great and certified coaches will teach anything from basic bike maintenance, using brakes safely, riding on single-track trail, rolling bumps, to taking small jumps. A great emphasis of the program is to learn to stay safe on trail and also to learn about trail etiquette and basic trail maintenance. Founder, owner, and one of the camp coaches is Shaums March. He is also the technical coach for the US National and Olympic team, and has more than 17 years of experience coaching and running youth programs. Youth can sign up for several camps, we will always try to create groups based on experience and skill level. Mandatory gear: bike helmet and a bike with brakes, highly recommended gear include eye protection (sunglasses) and bike gloves, knee and elbow padding is optional. Please bring swim gear and a water bottle daily. Wholesome lunches, healthy snacks, and water to refill bottles are provided.
