14 summer 2015 leisure guide 360-778-7000 BLOEDEL DONOVAN PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS—–— It is with heavy hearts that we've reached the decision to cancel our Parks Preschool program. We continue to face difficult budget constraints. As stewards of public funding, we are forced to focus our resources on services requested by the public that others in the community cannot or will not provide. In the case of the preschool, there are others who can and do offer this service. Dedicated Preschool Program teachers like Michelle and Nancy have positively touched the lives of many families for nearly 40 years. This is a difficult loss for the Bellingham Parks & Recreation family and we thank you for entrusting your children to our program and our wonderful staff. PRESCHOOL OPEN GYM (3-5 year olds) Don't let rainy, windy weather keep you at home! Come on over to Bloedel Donovan's Multipurpose Room, the perfect, dry place for your three-to-five year old to have some fun. Bring a scooter or favorite active toy; no bicycles please. We will provide balls and hoops for everyone's enjoyment. Socialize with other parents while your preschooler plays with other children his/her own age! This is a free, non-staffed program; parental supervision is required at all times. For safety consideration, children 3-5 years only please. A calendar with closures is posted at the gym. PLEASE NOTE: Preschool Open Gym will be closed for the summer after May 22. AGES: 3–5 years old DAYS/DATES: Mon, Wed & Fri through May 22 TIME: 10–11:30am LOCATION: Bloedel Donovan Multipurpose Room COST: FREE! TODDLER TIME The weather outside is brighter, but not always dry! Toddler Time is a great alternative on rainy days. You will enjoy pleasant conversation with other parents and your child will have the opportunity to run and play with other kids his/her own age, learning cooperation and sharing. The Bloedel Donovan Multipurpose Room is a large, dry, warm, and safe space for your child to play with his/her tricycle, scooter, or favorite active toy; no bicycles please. We will provide balls and hoops for everyone's exploration. This is a free, non-staffed program; parental supervision is required at all times. For safety consideration, children birth to 3 years only please. No registration needed. A calendar with closures is posted at the gym. PLEASE NOTE: Toddler Time will be closed for the summer after May 22. AGES: 0–3 with parent DAYS/DATES: Tuesdays & Thursdays through May 22 TIME: 10–11:30am LOCATION: Bloedel Donovan Multipurpose Room COST: FREE! SENSATIONAL TODDLERS Come join us for a "sense"ational parent child program! We welcome all children ages 18 to 36 months and their parents. See how creative those little hands can be as they experiment and explore with paint, paper, play dough, glitter, goop and gak. The child friendly environment at Whatcom Center for Early Learning will spark your child's imagination and self-expression while promoting socialization and motor development.
