Facility Rental Info SPRING/SUMMER PLAYBOOK 2024 | BELLINGHAM PARKS & RECREATION 40 40 Rachael Chapman Recreation Instructor Rachael started as a new Recreation Instructor at the Arne Hanna Aquatic Center in August 2023. She lifeguards, teaches swim lessons, and instructs water aerobics. Rachael is an alumna of Western and has her MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. Rachael tries to add a bit of 'theatre magic' and fun to all she does, whether it's imaginary games in swim lessons or musical numbers in water aerobics! Rachael likes swimming, seeing local shows, and exploring the Bellingham food scene. Paul Knippel Greenways Project Manager Paul Knippel has joined the Design and Development Team serving in the role of Greenways Project Manager. He comes to City of Bellingham from the City of Ferndale where he worked as the Stormwater Manager. After graduating with a degree in geology, Paul moved from Wisconsin to Bellingham in 2003 to enjoy mountains in the morning and salt water in the afternoon. He enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, boating, and gardening. Bellingham's parks, trails, and community gardens have been important places on Paul's journey, and he looks forward to delivering Greenways projects to the community. Meet the All-Star Athletic Facilities Team Brenden Parks, Zac Brown-Davis, Walker Freepons, Bryce Thompson, Alex King, & Robin Miller. Not pictured, Taylor Schenk. Throughout the year our dedicated team maintain and prepare all of the athletic fields and stadiums for a wide variety of community use. In addition to our flagship Civic Field and Joe Martin Stadium, our crew manage the turf and related facilities at Squalicum Creek Park, Frank Geri Fields, and Downer Fields.
