Youth/ Teen SPRING/SUMMER PLAYBOOK 2023 | BELLINGHAM PARKS & RECREATION 10 BellingCamp Oaks Week 1, June 20-23: How to be a Good Werewolf (No camp Monday, June 19) This week at camp you will learn how to be a good and friendly werewolf, you will NOT eat park visitors! Week 2, June 26-30: Mad Scientist Throw on your lab coat and safety goggles! This week campers will transform into mad scientists. Week 3, July 5-7: Finding Atlantis (No camp Monday-Tuesday, July 3-4). This week we adventure into Lake Whatcom for ancient relics... maybe Atlantis is closer than you think. Week 4, July 10-14: Games Galore Oaks and Acorns unite this week to make and play our own games! Week 5, July 17-21: Cooking Up A Storm This is a food focused camp! Eating competitions, chef skills, and gardening too! Week 6, July 24-28: Survivor Oaks and Acorns join forces this week for a wild week of Survivor! Obstacle courses, capture the flag, food eating competitions, water balloon fights, crafts, games, and more! Week 7, July 31-August 4: Hogwarts Potions class, magical treats, and test your quidditch skills at Hogwarts this week. Week 8-Week 10, Oaks Take Over Fairhaven Park! The last three weeks of camp, Oaks will be hosted out of the Fairhaven Park Pavilion. We will take hikes and visit downtown Fairhaven. Week 8, August 7-11: Trail Trekking & Field Games This week we explore the trails in Fairhaven and play field games. Week 9, August 14-18: Fairhaven Foodies Let's see what kinds of fancy foods we can make in the kitchen at Fairhaven. Cupcake decorating, fruit sculpture, and a trip to Acme ice cream! Week 10, August 21-23: Fairhaven Adventures (Camp is only Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday) Bring your sense of adventure this week because we are going to explore lovely Fairhaven. DAYS/DATES: Monday-Friday; June 20-August 23 Please note: 3 weeks are 3-4 days only TIME: 8:00 am–5:30 pm AGES: 9-12 LOCATION: Bloedel Donovan Pavilion (Oaks move to Fairhaven Park Pavilion for Weeks 8-10) COST: $285 ($228 for Week 1, $171 for Weeks 3 and 10) COORDINATOR: Rosa Caldwell MIN: 5 / MAX: 15 BellingCamp Oaks Every day we will play games, make crafts, and swim or splash around! Pre-registration is required. Scholarship Opportunities! Bellingham Parks and Recreation has been awarded funding for summer camp scholarships from the Whatcom Community Foundation! The grant is part of The Fund for Whatcom County and prioritizes Child and Youth Mental Health. This summer, campers will be able to apply to attend a week (depending on availability) of BellingCamp and Adventure Day Camp at an 80% discount. In addition to the 2023 Youth Summer Camp Scholarship Program, the City also offers a $200 per person annual scholarship program.
