MONEYWISE: Teen Financial
Literacy Program
Teens will learn about various things including banking,
budgeting, paychecks, purchasing a car, savings,
investing and the cost of college. Moneywise alumni
reported back that the interactive class was a fun way
to learn about money and that the class empowered
them to take control of their financial future. Instructor
Christine Gary has lived in Bellingham for over 25 years
and has worked at D.A. Davidson since 2012. In her
current position she works closely with financial
advisors on their use of software and enjoys
teaching people new things.

Get outside, get dirty, and give back! Each week young
teens will develop leadership skills, steward their parks,
make new friends, work with a variety of organizations
and best of all, have fun while making a difference in
their community. Some of the great groups we will be
working with include Recreation Northwest, NSEA,
Animals as Natural Therapy, Habitat for Humanity,
Spark Museum, WMBC and many more! Participants
will receive a certificate for volunteer hours worked
throughout Monday-Thursday and at the end of each
week celebrate with a fun Friday adventure. (This great
program is supported in part by funding through a new
SEEK (Summer Experiences and Enrichment for Kids)
grant. Weekly itineraries can be found online.
