Pedal Power
Get on a bike and ride! We're teaming up with
Sun-E-Land Bikes to offer introductory bike
rides in and around the Port of Bellingham,
Zuanich Point and Downtown. Each class is intended for
beginner to intermediate riders and covers proper safety,
etiquette and all the basic elements of riding E-bikes and
pedal bicycles. Bikes and helmets will be provided or feel
free to bring your own in good working condition.
Deadline to register is Thursday prior to each date.
BARK STEWARDSHIP
Does your dog love going on walks? No matter
where in the city you walk, thank you for keeping
our neighborhoods, parks, and trails clean and safe
by controlling your pooch and scooping their poop.
Practice good "bark" stewardship:
• Bring extra bags.
• Scoop every poop & carry it to the trash.
• Follow leash laws and control your dog.
• Pledge to scoop every poop and get a
free bag dispenser and bag clip for your leash

Volunteer Spotlight
"As a bark steward
for Little Squalicum
Park, my walks include
keeping the dog waste
stations filled, handing
out bags, and, when
needed, picking up
and keeping track of
dog waste. Since this is
an off-leash dog park,
the happy dogs and people have access to a
beautiful park, but too many times people are
busy talking, running, or biking and dogs are out
of sight when dooty calls."
"Off leash doesn't mean off duty."
- Christine Woodward, Bark Steward
Look for our friendly Park Ambassadors while
you're out in our parks this spring and summer as
we spread the word about "bark" stewardship.
