TEEN VIRTUAL EVENT
Paula Yoo and Brendan Kiely;
"From a Whisper to a Rallying Cry,"
and, "The Other Talk"
Thursday, January 20, 6:30 to 7:30 pm
Village Books and the Bellingham Public Library
are teaming up to host a special event on Zoom,
featuring a conversation between two amazing
authors in the YA genre. Paula Yoo writes about the
fatal 1982 beating of Chinese American man, Vincent
Chin, that galvanized the Asian American movement
in From a Whisper to a Rallying Cry. In The Other Talk,
Brendan Kiely starts a conversation with white kids
about race in this accessible introduction to white
privilege and why allyship is so vital. Don't miss this
