Scottish Highland Dance
Energetic and graceful, this performing art form of
Scotland is often called the world's most sophisticated
folk dance. Hundreds of years old, popular dances
include the Highland Fling and Sword Dance which are
featured at local Highland Games and Gatherings. During
each class, lively bagpipe music will create a festive
setting for you to learn the intricate footwork. Once
mastered, outdoor opportunities abound for dancers
throughout the summer and indoor competitions in
winter months. Participants should wear light clothing.
Dance shoes are not required.

steps that will have their feet
flying through the movements
of reels and jigs in no time.
Once completed, dancers
will have a new appreciation
and appetite for Irish dance.
